NET SAFETY MONITORING WINS $1MM ORDER FROM ONE OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST INTEGRATED ENERGY COMPANIES FOR OUR NEXT-GENERATION SOLAR POWERED GAS DETECTION PACKAGE, THE NET SAFETY SOLARSHIELD - 04.03.08

solar_shield Our customer maintains hundreds of remote natural gas compressor sites, all of which require government regulated compliance for the monitoring of LEL gases. These regulations call for a full-time, fixed gas detection solution in order to safe guard personal who periodically visit the location as well as a system to protect the facility. A rugged, weather-proof solar-powered detection package is ideal for these difficult to access locations. Historically, our client had relied on electrical contractors to purchase solar components and then match this equipment to Net Safety Monitoring gas detection products. This was resulting in high costs, long lead times, additional logistics, and ultimately was producing an inferior end-product.

The decision was made to commission the Net Safety SolarShield package after realizing it's several key features and benefits, completing a tour of our state-of-the-art manufacturing complex, and full assurances were made that their approaching project deadline could be met. The SolarShield autonomous solar powered gas/flame detection system delivers top performance and value. It's clever modular design is conveniently pre-wired and employs quick-connectors and plugable cables between the controller, solar panels and batteries - making installation virtually effortless. The robust and proven component package can withstand practically any extreme weather condition while providing weeks of reliable autonomous gas or flame detection.

The SolarShield package can utilize both Net Safety's full series of low power flame detectors and our Millennium Low Power gas detector. All are designed to draw as little as 35 mA of power and were developed in response to customer demand and intended for sites with limited primary or secondary power. The Millennium Low Power can be paired with our catalytic bead combustible sensor as well as a variety of toxic gas sensors. To obtain the lowest load possible, the Millennium is manufactured with solid state relays, the ability to dim the LED display, and an option to switch off the 4-20 mA output circuitry when not in use. The Millennium does not sacrifice any features or functionality through our advanced low-power design. The compact and explosion-proof Millennium has a power disconnect switch and meter test jacks to simplify maintenance, a multi-language scrolling LED display to facilitate calibration and configuration, and an internal push button and external magnetic switch for one-person intrusive or non-intrusive calibration.

Owing to several key value-added features, including it's superior design, efficiency and the substantial cost savings, the SolarShield package has been generating a lot of interest among international energy companies, NOC's and oil & gas engineering contractors throughout the world.

"We are excited about the successful completion of this significant project," said Marlene Coffey, President, Net Safety Monitoring. "Not only are we proud of our team's performance in meeting our customers technical requirements within a tight deadline, but we are also pleased to contribute to a process that will help meet the growing global demand for clean solar energy."
