2-Channel Rack Mount Controller Combines Fire and Gas Detection - 02.15.05
Net Safety Monitoring announces the Millennium RM2, a 2-channel rack mount
controller designed to monitor both Fire and Gas detectors. The RM2 Controller
functions as the centralized display and alarm point when connected to any
combination of Net Safety fire and gas detectors.
The RM2 Controller has two independent channels, each with its own display and
Status LEDs. The RM2 can be set up, monitored and maintained using the Front
Panel push buttons or by connecting to a PC or PDA via the serial communications
port.
The RM2 contains custom designed firmware including a 1000 Event Logging
feature which automatically records the date, time, channel, detector type and its
associated alarm, fault or calibration condition. Event information is stored in
protected RAM and is a valuable reference for analysis or troubleshooting.
Available for either 12 or 24 V dc systems, each channel has 2 SPDT relays and a
jumper selectable isolated/non-isolated analog output. A separate normally
energized relay responds to any detected fault. An independent watchdog timer
constantly monitors the electronics for faults and initiates a fail-safe response.
The RM2 is CSA certified for Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations and Factory
Mutual performance certified for fire alarm systems.
Net Safety's RM2 offers a new level of flexibility by combining both fire and gas
detection to safeguard installations against a variety of potential hazards or cover
multiple zones with a single centralized monitoring device.
