NET SAFETY SYSTEMS DIVISION AWARDED UPGRADE TO ALBERTA RESEARCH FACILITY - 01.03.09

Net Safety Systems Division has won approval from the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for a major gas detection system upgrade installation. The gas detection system upgrade was required within a specialized government research facility as part of a complete Fire & Gas alarm system replacement project wherein MCL Power Inc. of Edmonton was awarded the tender by the Ministry and Simplex Grinnell and Net Safety are supplying the fire alarm and gas detection systems respectively.

The project was awarded after Net Safety Systems met all the stringent criteria set by the client, including expertise and experience with gas detection systems; dedicated product support; and a very strong technical solution.

For this project Net Safety Systems will be offering their standard PlantSafe 7001 Solution, based on the HIMA HiMatrix hardware. The project comprises of SIL 3 PLC based systems to be located at various areas throughout the facility utilizing existing H2, H2S and Carbon monoxide toxic gas detectors as well as a number of combustible gas detectors. All the systems will be interconnected on a SAFE ETHERNET link and will communicate with a PC based HMI system designed and implemented by the Net Safety Systems team.

Some key factors for winning the tender included the TUV approved SIL 3 solution based on PlantSafe 7001, the proposed solution's ability to interface with existing devices, and the dedicated, ongoing service and support of the installed system, which Net Safety Systems is uniquely qualified to provide.

The project is scheduled to be implemented by June 2009.
